General information only. We are not FCA-authorised and nothing here is regulated financial advice or a personal recommendation. How we stay independent

We acknowledge within 30 days and usually within 5 working days, we mark any disputed figure "under review" as soon as your complaint is logged, and we resolve a disputed figure within 20 working days.

How to complain

Use the form below or email [email protected]. You do not need an account, and nothing here costs anything. The same form carries three things: a complaint about how we have handled personal data, a dispute about a figure we have published, and an objection to processing.

What happens next

We send an acknowledgement with a reference number within 30 days of receiving your complaint (usually within 5 working days). We look into it and reply in writing without undue delay, telling you what we found, what we have changed, and why, and what you can do if you disagree. If your complaint is about a figure we have published, that figure is marked "under review" on every page as soon as your complaint is logged, and we resolve it within 20 working days.

The Information Commissioner

You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at any time — you do not have to complain to us first — at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113. If your complaint is about something you have paid for, you can also use your card provider's dispute process; nothing here limits your consumer rights.

What we keep

A record of your complaint, our reply and any change we made, for 6 years. History on this site is annotated, never deleted: a corrected figure keeps its earlier value in the record with the reason for the change, and we publish a monthly count of sourced facts removed under pressure, for which the target is zero.

What we do not do with this form

There is no marketing consent on this form, ever, and nothing you send here is used to contact you about anything other than your complaint. See the privacy notice for the full picture and for how to exercise your other rights under UK GDPR.

The form

No account is needed and nothing here costs anything. We use what you send only to answer your complaint. The Fee Register and the UK Advice Fee Index are not published yet, so most complaints today will be about how we have handled personal data; the figure-dispute route is here from the start because a statutory route should not wait for the thing it protects.

It must be about your own firm; we do not publish statements naming another firm or person.

This form works without JavaScript. We store what you send here to answer your complaint and for the 6-year record described above, and for nothing else. A salted one-way hash of your connection is kept briefly to limit abuse — details in our privacy notice.

About this page: information only, from a publisher that is not authorised or regulated by the FCA, sells no advice and endorses no firm. This procedure covers complaints about this site. To complain about a financial adviser, see our guide to complaining about a financial adviser, which explains the Financial Ombudsman Service route. How we are funded is set out on how we make money.
