About Nathan

Nathan Hill-Haimes is the founder and managing director of FinancialAdvisor.co.uk, an independent consumer-research and education site about UK financial advice. He holds an MBA in Finance from Nottingham University Business School and has spent more than fifteen years building businesses in fintech and digital network growth.

He acquired FinancialAdvisor.co.uk on a simple thesis: researching a financial adviser should be transparent, free, and free of pay-to-play incentives. The site takes no referral fees from advisers, sells no leads, and builds on two kinds of evidence only — public regulatory data (cited and dated on every page) and contributions readers make directly, kept strictly separate from anything we compile ourselves. His work on the platform has been recognised at the Yorkshire Innov8 Awards.

What Nathan is — and is not

He is: an independent researcher and publisher on the UK advice market — its fees, its regulation, and how to navigate it.

He is not: a financial adviser. An MBA in Finance is a business degree, not a regulated financial advice qualification — it is not a Level 4 Diploma (DipFA/CII), and Nathan is not on the FCA Register. That distinction is the point of this site: it exists precisely because it is independent of the advice industry, and nothing here is — or substitutes for — regulated financial advice. For decisions about your own money, use an FCA-authorised adviser, and verify them first.

Editorial role

Nathan is the author and reviewer of the site's guides, calculators and datasets, working to the editorial standards published on the about page: primary sources, dated reviews, plain English, and incentives declared. Corrections land fast — if you spot an error in anything carrying his byline, email [email protected].

Contact

Media, partnership and research enquiries: [email protected]. One thing he can't do, however nicely asked: answer personal financial questions — that's regulated advice, and the right person for it is on the FCA Register.
